Waat Media Parent Opens London Office, Taps Mobile Pro

LOS ANGELES — The parent company of adult mobile company Waat Media recently opened a new office in London and hired a former Warner Bros. executive to helm its European marketing efforts.

Twistbox Entertainment has tapped Justin Richardson to lead the firm's sales from London. Richardson joined Warner Bros in 2000, and cofounded Warner Bros. International New Media, overseeing the entertainment brand’s online, interactive TV and mobile businesses as director.

The company also has brought in Henrik Salzman, a former account manager with GM Entertainment, to handle Scandinavia business out of the company’s Stockholm office.

“Building our local presence in Europe that now includes offices in London, Paris, Düsseldorf, Krakow, Stockholm and Moscow is a critical piece of our expansion plans as we take our programming, operator support and revenue to the next level,” Twistbox Entertainment CEO Ian Aaron said. “Both Justin and Henrik bring the sales and account management discipline to make sure that we deliver the highest quality programming and support to our partners in region.”

Mobile adult distributor Waat Media and mobile game publisher Charismatix earlier this year merged to form Twistbox Entertainment. The new company raised $12.75 million in new financing, led by Spark Capital.

Waat Media, which distributes its “late night” adult mobile content from partners including Penthouse, "Girls Gone Wild" and Vivid Entertainment, continues to operate as a separate unit within Twistbox Entertainment, while Charismatix was rebranded as Twistbox Games.

Twistbox, through exclusive licenses, supplies content to more than 90 operators in more than 40 countries.
